Would you like to work in a pet-friendly office?

Did you know that 20th February is annual ‘Love Your Pet Day’?

I’m sure if you’re like the pet owners here at The Cleaning Collective, you love your pets every day of the year… but why not take a day out to celebrate them even more than normal!

It’s estimated that 12 million UK households have a pet. This works out at 44% of households. With so many of us having pets nowadays, especially younger people without children and those who work full time, there is an increased need for dog walkers and pet sitting services but there is also an increased amount of people taking their pets to work with them. 

A Study by Animal Friends suggests that 1.7 million workplaces are now pet-friendly – that’s around a third of employers who have a pet-policy in place!

A pet-friendly workplace can boost morale and make staff less anxious, encourage social interaction and increase people’s enthusiasm for work - so it could be worth considering. In fact, we carried out a poll on our Facebook page and found that a quarter of you would like to work in a pet-friendly environment!
We know that pets aren’t for everyone and the main reasons behind not allowing pets in the workplace are worries over cleanliness and allergies. We have some tips if you are considering a pet-friendly policy to make sure you can maintain a clean and hygienic workplace for your staff while allowing furry friends.

Even the most well-behaved pets can sometimes have the odd accident. Maybe it’s something they ate, maybe they’re feeling a bit under the weather, but this shouldn’t be something that stops pets being allowed in the workplace.
