Description

These high quality, heavy duty bin liners are accredited by the CHSA and come in a very convenient case size of 200. Please see below information on when you should be using a black bin liner.

When Should I Use Heavy Duty Bin Liners?

Unfortunately, we will always have waste items that cannot be recycled, which we label as ‘general waste’ or ‘residual waste.’ This kind of waste needs to be disposed of in a black bin bag.

General/residual waste includes (but is not limited to):

  • Food packaging that is contaminated
  • Crisp packets
  • Sweets wrappers
  • Tissues
  • Floor dirt and debris

Frequently Asked Questions

Are bin bags recyclable?

Reprocessed and newly manufactured polythene bags can be recycled, however they must first be separated from other waste. The black bin liners are usually sent to landfill sites, but some waste management services may sort the bin liners for recycling beforehand.

Are bin liners food safe?

No, we do not advise that food should be stored in bin liners. We cannot be sure of the level of contamination on the scrap polythene used to make the liners, as well as not knowing if they have been manufactured in a food safe environment.

Are bin liners flammable?

Yes – you must therefore store them in cool, dry conditions. Make sure that you never place items such as cigarettes, hot embers or hot ash into your bin liner.
